Sometimes, it’s good to be Queen (for a Day!)

My new book, The Ring and the Crown, is an alternate-history-fantasy novel set in the early 20th century in a world where Avalon has lasted a thousand years and the British won the Hundred Years War, and thus the French throne, creating the most powerful empire the world has ever known.

To celebrate its impending publication, my fabulous publisher, the loyal and royal court of Disney-Hyperion threw me a veddy veddy proper tea party at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills.

My lovely author friends came to toast and wear flower crowns!

Me and My beautiful and amazing editor Emily Meehan, we have worked together for over a decade and have created 15 books.

Me and my hubby Mike Johnston (co-author of Frozen) – because guys look good in crowns too!

Me and Mike doing our best Downton Abbey!

The beautiful book cover!

Me, the handsome Pseudonymous Bosch (Secret Series) and gorgeous Margaret Stohl (Beautiful Creatures) as the three muses!

Me and fabulous Leigh Bardugo (Grisha trilogy) caught making duck faces for a selfie!

Me and the lovely maids all in a row: Alyson Noel (Soul Seekers), Margaret Stohl and Leigh Bardugo!

Mike and I with the cutest couple in YA: Tahereh Mafi (Ignite Me) and Ransom Riggs (Hollow City).

The long view! How many New York Times bestsellers can you spot in the crowd?

The royal invitation!

Now everybody has to buy the book!
